Committee

The VCA is a body of volunteers living in and around Ventnor for whom Ventnor Carnival is special. Some love it because, as children, their parents dressed them up and sent them to parade in all weathers around our glorious town. Those not fortunate enough to have been born in Ventnor come to the town in later life and found in Carnival an experience that brought together the whole community in a few days of frolic in August. In turn they entered their own children in Carnival and so the happy cycle repeats itself. Now, after 120 years, our Carnival has become an institution in the town. But like all institutions it needs to be organised and financed. Sadly the will to take on voluntary activities is dwindling and Committees, like the one that runs Ventnor Carnival, are becoming difficult to fill. Any person who loves Carnival or Ventnor is invited join in and help in a capacity suited to their personal skills and abilities - you are needed.
